Built by chemistry teachers who were tired of starting from scratch
Chemistry Toolkit exists because the two of us who started it spent too many Sunday evenings rebuilding worksheets that thousands of other teachers had already made that week.
Our story
It started as a shared drive between two departments
In 2022, Dan was running a chemistry department and Priya was teaching iGCSE three time zones away. We’d trained together, and for years we’d traded resources the way most teachers do - email attachments with names like “moles worksheet FINAL v3 (use this one)”.
Eventually we tidied the best of it into one shared drive with a naming convention and a rule: nothing goes in without worked answers. Colleagues asked for access. Then their colleagues did. When the drive passed a few hundred teachers, we realised the folder structure was the product - and spent a year rebuilding it properly, with every resource rewritten, checked and mapped to topic and qualification.
Chemistry Toolkit launched in 2023. The library has grown every single week since, and the rule from the shared-drive days still stands: if it wouldn’t survive being used by a real class on a wet Thursday afternoon, it doesn’t go in.
We’re still a small team, and we like it that way - it means the person answering your support email is usually the person who wrote the resource you’re asking about.
What we believe
The rules that decide what goes in the library
Teacher-written, always
Every resource is written and checked by someone who has taught the specification it covers. Nothing is scraped, crowd-uploaded or generated and left unread.
Answers are half the resource
A worksheet without worked solutions is homework for the teacher. Everything in the library ships with answers that show the method, not just the result.
Evidence-informed, not fashionable
Retrieval practice, spaced review and misconception-first teaching are built into the resource types themselves - because the evidence for them is boring and overwhelming.
Fair prices, no lock-in
A single subscription a teacher can afford personally, cancellable in one click. If the library stops earning its place in your week, leaving should be easy.

Nine years teaching GCSE and iGCSE chemistry in the UK and internationally. Priya leads the product - the library, the search and Toolkit AI.
